I have bough 8 of these pumps for various rental units that we have in Alaska. Hands down, the worst pump I’ve ever had. I’ve had three leak from the same spot, on the bottom of the pump every time within the last three months. Amazon did not want to replace it but eventually did. Grundfos will not warranty the pumps since it was purchased through amazon. I thought, maybe it’s just a string of bad luck that they are leaking...... nope! My contractor friend has the exact same issues. He has had two leak out of the four he has had installed. This is really sad considering how expensive they are. Will never buy a grundfos pump again. I have however had good luck with leader and red lion pumps.

I was excited to find this pump even though I've never used a Grundfos product before. I bought it October 24th 2017 and today is August 18th 2018. Yesterday it failed and started leaking. What caught my attention was a grinding and whirling sounds coming from the unit itself. I found there was water around the base of the pump, and the pump was hot, including the water outlet piping. I hit the reset button and it shut off.
The pump is still working, sort of, but certainly it will have to be replaced soon.
The load on the pump is minimal since I live alone and don't use so much water that it should have failed after ten months of causal use.

Purchased in August 2017. Installed in May 2018. In May 2019, water was accumulating on the basement floor. Plumbers were called and the water was found to be coming from a leak in the bottom of the pump. Grundfos warranty states that "warranted to the original user only to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 24 months from date of installation". Amazon reported the defect to the seller (Three-Fifteen, Inc.) and I received the following response; "Unfortunately we do not provide any replacement after the 1 year of purchase". Buyers beware. It only lasted 1 year and $700 went down the drain + $169 cost (Plumbers) to bypass the defective pump.

This is my 2nd SCALA2 over a 3 year period. The first was purchased in 2016 . The first began to trip my outlet after 1 year of use coincident with making a grinding sound. Replaced it with another unit that was purchased in 4/2017. Now 1/2019 and it has just begun to trip my circuit and leak water from the bottom of the unit seam. I tried fixing the first unit and paid over $150 from an official Grundfos supplier for an overpriced seal set worth 1/10 of that at most. I am not going to take the 2nd SCALA2 apart to repair. I have had it with Grundfos. Never again.

This thing is an animal. Zero drop in pressure once installed. My son got a shower, while my daughter was filling a bath and the dishwasher was running. All of that at the same time with no drops in pressure. You'd never know another faucet was opened. No surging at all, instant pressure. It is the absolute best!
I'm on city water and my pressure maxed out at 33psi. That pressure dropped significantly when another faucet opened. It made life maddening not being able to have more then one source of water going at a time. Now every tap has 52psi of pressure at all times.
The only downside is that for the first time ever in the new house we were able to run out of hot water. 😂. Before the flow was so low that it was never an issue.

Hands down the best money I have spent. Easy install with the only issue being finding a 1inch female to 3/4 male pex adapter.

This is the second SCALA2 pump I've ordered. Unfortunately, the first one was defective and the fill plug assembly self-destructed when I attempted to remove it. This second one was predominantly built right (the lubricant that was supposed to be on the O-rings was poorly applied and needed some attention) and like too many German engineered items, the provided instructions attempt to explain everything with pictures and symbols, which almost always eliminates the details (some YouTube videos should suffice). But once primed and plugged in, the unit purrs faithfully and our use of it to pressurize harvested rainwater for our irrigation system is working like a charm. Setting the pressure to 21 PSI eliminates the need for an inline pressure regulator and our drip emitters are flowing nicely all along the entire length of 1/2" line. We do recommend a fine gauge filter prior to the pump's inlet. We found that the 1" Banjo Y-filter work's just fine.

I have had need for a pressure boosting pump during the past 12 years. Up until my purchase of the Grundfos Scala2, the prior pump added a specific amount of pressure to whatever pressure was being delivered to the house. We are on a community well and as such the pressure would vary about 15 PSI depending on the pressure coming from the well. As such my house pressure, with a consistent additive would sometimes be higher than I desired. With this pump, you set the pressure you want in the house and the pump reads what is coming into the house and works faster or slower to maintain the PSI that you have preset. It has worked flawlessly during its first month of service. If this pump holds up for 10 years I will be extremely happy. So far, nothing but smiles. Update - I have had some problems with this pump but a pump is only as good as the service provided by the seller. Vern's Wholesale provides exceptional customer service. They replaced the defective pump within 4 days and that included a weekend. Thumbs up for Vern's Wholesale.

DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. Purchased it and it started leaking after 4 months,. Grundfos support are useless so amazon replaced it and the second new pump also leaked after 3 months. Will never purchase any Grundfos products. Amazon were great, no questions asked and refunded us. I purchased Davey pump which is a stainless steel and not cheap plastic parts like the Grundfos Scala 2. Terrible support from Grundfos, not even answer emails.

Used this to boost the water pressure in my house hold from 30 psi to the max of the pump which i believe is 65psi. I have been using it for over six months and have had no issues and am very happy with it. Keeps up with any use I put it through at home

It was very easy to install and setup used Pex line for plumbing which is super easy. Just plug it in to desired pressure. I used it for whole house pressure boost. Mostly was for underground sprinklers to help push them up and spray better. Which it did.
