WHERE CAN I GET MOTOR REBUILT?

Hi John, We do not sell re-built motors or aware of place to purchase those. If you are needing the replacement motor for this 1 HP Super Pump, then the proper replacement motor will be this UST1102 1 HP Replacement Motor. Could you send us a few photos of your pump and motor to ensure you are purchasing the correct replacement? Please take a close up shot of the motor label as well as a wide shot of the complete pump to include the pipes going in and out of the pump. To supply photos simply click the reply link below and upload your photos. Once we get those photos we can make the proper recommendation.

what is the difference between Hayward pool pump W3SP2607x10 and SP2607x10?
Reply
Hi Alice, As far as the pump goes there is absolutely no difference between the W3SP2607x10 and SP2607x10. The only difference is the warranty the W3 prefix indicates that if the pump was purchased online through the internet then the pump comes with a manufacturer's warranty. If you purchase the version without the W3 through the internet then the manufacturer does not supply a warranty.

I would like to replace my Haywood Super Pump. Not sure the H.P. to replace. The old pump Haywood was a 3/4 Model C48J2N131H.P. How do I know if this was or is the correct size for my pool?
It is a in ground vinyl liner pool 16' X 36" with a 6' X 3' stair extension. One simmer one bottom drain and two outlet jets.

Hi John, Given your pool dimensions you have roughly a 25,000 gallon pool and you will want a pump that can completely turn over 25,000 gallons in 8 hours. This would mean a pump that outputs 53 Gallons Per Minute (GPM). The 3/4 HP Super Pump will output about 48 GPM where the 1 HP will output about 62 GPM. So you are right on the border between the 3/4 HP and 1 HP and would be fine with either option. If you found that your 3/4 HP was just a little too weak then I would suggest going up to 1 HP, however, if the 3/4 HP was doing the job fine then I would stay with the 3/4 HP as it costs less to operate.

I would suggest the 1 HP PureLine Prime as a great replacement pump for your Hayward Super Pump. The PureLine Prime is a drop-in replacement meaning the plumbing ports match up to the exact same location as your Hayward Super Pump making plumbing easy. The Prime does have larger 2" ports compared to the smaller 1.5" ports on a Super Pump if you have 1.5" plumbing then a standard 2" Male x 1.5" Slip plumbing fitting can be used.

Hi, Lisa. That is not too much, the motor can operate at 10% above the rated voltage which is 253. However, it can cause the motor to run hotter/higher amps at the higher voltage and will shorten the life of the motor over time

Hi, Gerald. With 50 feet of head using the SP2607X10 pump, your flow rate will be about 50 GPM. This pump will turn over your pool is approximately 9 hours. So it will be sufficient for your pool. The SP2610X15 will also be sufficient with approximately 65 GPM.

Vinny, Using reducers should not affect the alignment of the plumbing. The Pureline Prime and Super Pump housing are similar in dimension. The only difference is the female threaded port size on the pump.

Based on the model number that you have provided this ia a 1 horse power. That Super pump model is SP2607X10. It is possible that you have a 3/4 hp full rated version which is equivalent to this one horse up rated version. Also here is the 3/4 horse power Super pump SP2605X7but remember that technically this version is a different model hence having less horse power then the model number that you have provided.

If it is a Super Pump then the ceramic part you will wedge out with a flat head screwdriver and the spring part of the shaft seal is pulled off of the impeller. Make sure the little rubber washer gets taken off of the impeller as well otherwise the new shaft seal will not slide on to the impeller all the way and it will leak.

I am getting ready to install a 14x28 foot in ground pool (around 15,000 gallons). The pump is a 1.5 hp with a flow rate of 88 gpm. I need a flow rate of 32 gpm to filter in 8 hrs. The max flow on my 24" filter is 45 gpm. I have 45 feet of head. Based on that a 1 hp pump would supply 50 gpm. Do I really need the 1.5 hp pump? At 42 feet of head it still pumps at 67 GPM. Isn't that to high?
Reply
The 1 HP would work just fine for that size of pool. You definitely need a 1.5 HP though if you start adding features such as, a fountain, a spa, solar heat pump, pool cleaner. Adding any of these features will require more horsepower since the flow rate will be divided up by each addition feature.

Can I run my pump without water?
Reply
Hayward Pool pumps should never operate without water. The pump seal assembly in the pump volute (The area between the strainer basket and the pump motor) protects the pump motor from pool water. This seal assembly gets hot and is cooled by the pool water. If the pump is running without water, the seal will overheat and melt, If left running without water for a long period of time, the heat generated could damage the PVC pipe and other system components.
Reply
How many hours per day should I run my pump?
Reply
There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

My old pump was smoking. It was very rusted and I needed to replace the motor. I searched the internet and found the best value with INYO. I had just ordered a new filter (old one cracked when it rains it pours) and was very satisfied with INYOPools service. I took a picture of the wiring before disconnecting the old pump to insure I was able to install the new pump correctly. The new pump was delivered in just 2 days and works great. The screws to remove the back cover of the old pump were rusted and very difficult to remove. I put some grease on the screws of the new pump and covered them with duct tape to avoid this in the future.
